Do men like getting flowers?
At Euroflorist, we want everyone to enjoy the beauty of blooms as equals, yet women are perceived to enjoy a bouquet of blooms more than men in today’s society. But, whether they’re for a birthday, an anniversary, or simply ‘just because’, there’s always a reason to share the beauty of flowers with our loved ones, no matter the gender.
However, it is sadly speculated through a popular internet theory on Reddit that a man will receive his first bunch of flowers at his own funeral. We want to change that.
As such, we analysed our internal flower sales data to uncover the truth around male relationships with flowers. Do men like receiving flowers? Do men receive flowers at all? What flowers do men like? And more, revealed.

So, do men receive flowers?
After analysing our sales data, we found that just 2% (2.43%) of orders were sent to male recipients.
However, despite just 2% of orders going to men, we also asked our Dutch website visitors if they would like to receive more flowers - with a resounding 9 in 10 (87%) men saying YES.
When do men get flowers the most?
We also looked into the reasons for these flower sales to men, to uncover the most common occasions men receive flowers.
Through our analysis, we found that a birthday (26.4%) was the most common reason to send flowers to men, followed by Valentine’s Day (16.4%), and sorry for your loss (14.6%).
Whilst the popular online theory states that men only receive flowers at their funeral, we also looked into the reasons for the small number of flower sales to men, to uncover the most popular reasons people send flowers to men.
